15-Year-Old KING

December 4, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Another great story I thought I would share today on a 15 year old from this years Dunefest event here in Oregon. This was printed this month in Sand Addiction Magazine. Photo was provided by DT :)

Greg Puhl, a 15-year-old from Port Orford, Oregon, won King of the Dunes this year at Dune Fest. Riding a Dave Moore Banshee, he took first in his 401-499cc Class. The winners of each class are entered into the final race of the weekend to get the overall winner of the drags. Greg went through three rounds of bracket racing before he was crowned King of the Dunes.

It is a true family race team: Dad Ron, coordinates the funding and helps in the pits; Brother Nick acts as the team mechanic, and Mom Mary Anne, is his Number One fan. Greg realizes that, without all of them, he wouldn’t be on track at all.

Greg has only been drag racing for about a year-and-a-half. He and his family ride quads around their family cranberry farm and in the Oregon dunes just about every other weekend during the summer. The change to racing came when he got his first Banshee and he was hooked on speed. He appreciates the help that Chuck from CG Performance and Dave from Dave Moore Racing have given him, providing many tips on how to race and what to do to be successful on the track.

When Greg isn’t on his drag bike, he is on his dune bike, also a 2006 Banshee. The family only lives about an hour-and-a-half from the south Oregon Dunes, so heading out for a weekend ride during the summer is no problem. Although they admit, with the new drag bike, their focus this summer has been on racing and not as much on duning.

You can see Greg racing at one of his three favorite racetracks — Albany Motorsports Park, the Oregon Dunes, or Riddle Sand Drags. Catch him if you can!

Three Wheelers Still Rule!

December 2, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Nothing makes a ATV rider stop and stare like a clean three-wheeler. Sure you can have the latest and greatest quad with all the best technology, but there is something special and almost unexplainable about the cool factor of three-wheelers. Three wheels is where our sport started, and thats how a huge number of us learned to ride. We didn’t have to worry about bumpsteer, we could maneuver like crazy in the tight woods, and we could do wheelies like it was nothing. We also had to pay special attention, because those three-wheeled monsters required special techniques, which made us better riders!

Oct 2007 issue of quad magazine featured a 8 page article from this years Trike Rampage event in Florence, Oregon. Vistit THIS this link for 23 of these Toad shots displayed online at Quad Magazine.

Oregon Dunefest 2007

December 2, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Being native to Oregon, and active in the ATV industry, I am associated with the Oregon Dunefest each year here on the coast in Winchester Bay, Oregon. This years summer event was another huge success and I personally had a great time being part of a team that organized several events and was able to document some results through my photography.

Just shortly after this years event, I was contacted by several of the top magazines and local vendors in the industry interested in shots from the event and while it has taken a couple months to surface, I have shots in both Sand Addiction’s (Nov/Dec) issue and Dirt Wheels (Jan-08) issue.

If you would like to view some on my shots from the event, click HERE for some posted galleries on my DTExposures site. :)

Here is a shot that was used by H-Bomb Films to promote their new Huevos 10 & National Born Killers videos in Dirt Wheels magazine.

From Varsity to University, Volleyball Offers Assist

December 2, 2007 · 1 Comment

In June of 2007 I was fortunate to attend the Reno Volleyball Festival of Champions. Over the corse of a week, I shot many different matches including the finals at the University of Reno. Nike NW 17 Air Max won the Festival in the 17’s division and I was contacted by Active.com to provide some of my shots on a article of Nike player Leanne Ludes. With her near-perfect-grade point average and her zest for learning new things, new cultures, Leanne is pretty much destined to attend college and expand her horizons.

See full article:
HERE

You can also visit Nike NW Jrs for some shots displayed on THEIR home page. (pictures 2-6)

And Lastly, some shoots in a GALLERY at DTExposures.com
